Africa One Health Network (AfOHNet)

An organization that aims to improve coordination and communication between One Health networks with the mission of strengthening disease detection, diagnoses, and reporting.

One Health employs a multidisciplinary approach to address the interactions the health risks and threats posed by the ever changing interactions between humans, animals and the environment. AOHN aims to improve coordination and communication between One Health networks with the mission of strengthening disease detection, diagnoses, and reporting. We aim to strengthen One Health implementation across the African Continent by sharing best practices and lessons learned from established initiatives.

Africa Biological Safety Association (AfBSA)

An organization that congregates practitioners of biological safety for the promotion of biosafety and biosecurity and to facilitate the sharing of biosafety and biosecurity information in the African region.

Goals:

Expand awareness of biological safety.

Participate in the development of biological safety standards.

Develop as a resource for professional and scientific expertise in biological safety.

Advance biological safety as a scientific discipline through education, research, and professional development.

Develop and maintain professional standards for biological safety professionals.

The Multilateral Initiative on Malaria (MIM)

TDR, the Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases, is a global programme of scientific collaboration that helps facilitate, support and influence efforts to combat diseases of poverty. It is co-sponsored by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the World Bank and World Health Organization (WHO).

Network of African Science Academies (NASAC)

NASAC’s main objective is to bring together science academies and facilitate discussions on the scientific aspects of challenges of common concern, so as to make common statements on major issues relevant to Africa and to provide mutual support to member Academies. Drawing from this overall objective, the specific objectives of NASAC include to:

Facilitate the provision of advice to governments and regional organizations.

Promote cooperation between Academies in Africa.

Assist in building the capacities of Academies in Africa.

Assist scientific communities in Africa.

Pan-African Mosquito Control Association (PAMCA)

An African professional body that brings together players in the field of mosquito and mosquito-borne disease control. The organization provides a platform for capacity building, knowledge sharing and collaboration for concerted vector control initiatives in the African continent.

An Organization that works towards the advancement of best practices and informed decision making for development of genetic biocontrol technologies to improve public health.
