BUSY NEW YEAR AT THE CONSORTIUM SECRETARIAT
The year began on a proactive note for staff at the secretariat of the African Genetic Biocontrol Consortium, with an emphasis on establishment of Quality Management Systems (QMS) to promote improvement.
The staff were taken through the training on the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 2015 as the institution moves to strengthen systems and scale up governance. The ISO training will help to enhance operational efficiency, service delivery and compliance through the internationally recognized standard.
The training will inculcate in the staff, a culture of quality and employee involvement.

The African Genetic Biocontrol Consortium is a young entity, established in 2020.
Dr. Willy Tonui, the Executive Director of the African Genetic Biocontrol Consortium underscored the importance of the training, noting that it will enable staff to be more aware of processes and endeavor to deliver on quality for customers.
“It is about continuous improvement. This is a plus for the institution that will anchor on a solid foundation with this training, and position itself as a respected global entity” said Dr. Tonui.
The instructor is a Certified Risk Assessment Practitioner.
