WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION PROMOTES DUAL -USE RESEARCH AND THE RESPONSIBLE USE OF THE LIFE SCIENCES

Free online course targets an array of professionals in the life sciences research

The African Genetic Biocontrol Consortium would like to draw your attention to the online course offered by the World Health Organization (WHO) Academy. The course examines the dual-use research (DUR) issues and discusses ways to identify and mitigate potential biological risks as part of a multi- sectoral and cooperative approach across the One Health Spectrum that promotes that safe, secure and responsible use of the life sciences (RULS) to prevent accidents, unanticipated and deliberate misuse of biological materials, knowledge and emerging technologies.

The self- paced course targets professionals engaged in the life sciences research process, both at the lab bench and those responsible for oversight policy mechanics.
