The countdown is on! Nairobi is getting ready for the 3rd Global Congress on Genetic Biocontrol Technologies!

The programme is taking shape, and there’s plenty to look forward to!

From 15–18 March 2027, scientists, innovators, policymakers and partners from around the world will meet in Nairobi to share ideas, explore new discoveries and discuss the future of genetic biocontrol.

Under the theme “Advancing responsible genetic biocontrol innovations to improve animal and public health, strengthen vector control, and protect ecosystems,” the Congress promises exciting conversations on gene drive, vector control, biosafety, artificial intelligence, science communication and emerging biotechnology.

One highlight to watch is the high-level leadership forum, where African policymakers and regulators will explore practical commitments to strengthen research, regulation and regional collaboration.
